Breaking free from addictive behaviours can be challenging, but it’s possible. Ian Parkin specialises in helping individuals overcome a range of addictions, including substance abuse, gambling, and compulsive behaviours.

Strengthening Relationships Through Emotionally Focused Therapy

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a short-term, evidence-based approach to therapy that focuses on helping individuals and couples identify and change the emotional responses and interaction patterns that create distress in their relationships.

EFT is grounded in attachment theory, recognising that secure emotional bonds are crucial for human well-being. It emphasises the importance of understanding and expressing emotions and how these emotions impact our relationships with ourselves and others.

    Guidance and Support

EFT can assist you by helping you understand and address the underlying emotional needs and attachment patterns that may be contributing to difficulties in your relationships. Through a process of exploring and expressing emotions, identifying and changing negative interaction patterns, and strengthening emotional bonds, EFT can help you improve communication, resolve conflicts more constructively, and build more fulfilling and satisfying relationships with yourself and others.

    EFT can assist with

    • Strengthen emotional bonds: Improve communication, intimacy, and trust within relationships.
    • Resolve conflicts constructively: Develop healthier ways of interacting and resolving disagreements.
    • Increase emotional awareness: Help individuals understand and manage their emotions more effectively.
    • Improve self-esteem and self-worth: Foster a greater sense of self-acceptance and confidence.
